After completing Vocational training, I worked in Hospitals and Dental Schools to learn and develop the latest treatments available in the various different disciplines of Dentistry. Working in the Oral and Maxillofacial department at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital allowed me to develop surgical skills as well as develop a deeper understanding of facial anatomy. After completing my MFDS (Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery), I then went on to work in the Restorative departments at the Charles Clifford and Birmingham Dental Hospital, which also included Paediatric Dentistry. Restorative Dentistry relates to the rehabilitation of damaged teeth and or mouths and this is where my passion for this area began and this was further consolidated working in the Prosthetic Department in Birmingham, which dealt with making dentures for people, whom general dentists had had difficulty treating. I also taught dental students oral surgery and prosthetics.
To continue developing my dental skills, I am in the fourth and final year of studying for a MClinDent (equivalent of a double master) in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics at King’s College London. This has greatly increased my knowledge and repertoire of skills available to restore the damaged mouth. This includes crowns, bridges, denture, implants, treatment of tooth wear as well as other adjunctive skills.
I have also completed the Certificate in Implant Dentistry at the University of Sheffield and now place and restore dental implants.
Dentist with Special Interest in Endodontics
MUDr Charles U Prague 2007
GDC NO. 142853
My Name is Nickesh but prefer to be called Nick. I graduated from Charles University in Prague in 2007 and have been practicing dentistry predominantly in the NHS sector since 2008 as a general dentist. I am proficient in all aspects of dentistry; however I have a special interest in Endodontics (the study of root canal treatment).
I enjoy all fields of dentistry and am always looking to further myself. I take great pride in my work and I like to make all my patients feel at ease with my calming approach. I find my career to be extremely rewarding, from seeing my patients do the simple things like improving their oral hygiene to prevent dental problems, to performing (and succeeding in) the most complex root canal treatments and everything in between.
I am excited to be joining Lavender Road dental clinic, and Portman healthcare, as I can see myself progressing and fulfilling my potential here.
Aside from dentistry I have a very busy, albeit gratifying life with my new family. I got married last year to the love of my life, Lauren, and welcomed our son Archie in to the world who is now 8 months old and already ruling the household.
My hobbies include competitively racing gas powered remote controlled cars. I enjoy the intricate nature of tuning and ensuring the cars run efficiently therefore getting the most power from them.
I enjoy playing tennis and try to work out as much as I can.
I am passionate about football and am an Aston Villa supporter (even though we’ve not had a good season at all)!
